John Wick director Chad Stahelski has become a coveted commodity in the entertainment industry due to his immense success with John Wick and action films like it. It’s been two years since it was announced he’s helming Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima movie, and according to the Hollywood reporterhe has no intention of slowing down as he is teaming up with Michael B. Jordan to work on a Rainbow Six feature film.
This is not Michael B. Jordan’s first rodeo in the Tom Clancy universe as he starred in the 2021 film adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse as John Kelly, aka John Clark. While the film received mediocre reviews upon release, critics gave Jordan’s performance plenty of praise and achieved enough success to warrant a sequel.
Jordan has stated that “Without Remorse” focuses on a personal story and that a sequel would follow an action-packed formula, which is the case with Stahelski at the helm. Aside from the personal history explored, the upcoming Rainbow Six movie seems to focus on similar material covered by the games of the same name, which Ubisoft has turned into quite the spectacle.
There’s no timeline attached to the project, but as mentioned, Stahelski has had his hands full with the John Wick spinoff and Highlander reboot on his to-do list for quite some time.
