It could have been Michael Cera and Aubrey Plaza against the world.
The Arrested Development actor opened up about his past love affair with his Scott Pilgrim vs. the World co-star in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. a Rolling Stone interview released Friday.
plaza had previously revealed that she and Cera dated about a year and a half after meeting on the set of the 2010 film — meaning they were a lot closer than the public thought.
“We drove across the country after making this film and almost got married [Las] Vegas,” the White Lotus star told RuPaul and Michelle Visage on her “What’s the Tee?” podcast in 2016.
Rolling Stone asked Cera about the upcoming wedding and he shared his memories.
“We were driving through Vegas and almost on the spur of the moment we made a detour and got married,” he said.
He also shared that the two had a typically hilarious reason for wanting to get married.
“I think the idea was to then immediately divorce so that by the time we were about … 20 years old we could call each other ‘my ex-husband’ and ‘my ex-wife,'” he said.
