ionsgate on Monday announced Jackson’s casting for the film, which is being produced by Oscar-winning ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ producer Graham King.

“I met Jaafar over two years ago and was blown away by the way he organically embodies the spirit and personality of Michael,” King said in a statement.
“It was something so powerful that even after a worldwide search, it was clear he was the only one to fill the role.”
Fuqua shared a black and white photo of Jackson in his role on Instagram.
Fuqua added in a statement that Jackson “has a natural ability to mimic Michael and such great chemistry with the camera.”
Jackson said on Twitter that he was “humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life.”
Michael will be an authorized portrait of the pop star who died in 2009.
