Love Island: Meet Michael Owen’s Daughter, Gemma

Michael Owen has been in the spotlight this week after his daughter Gemma made her first appearance at the Love Island mansion.

The revealingly dressed 19-year-old appeared in ITV2’s dating series on Monday night (June 6), before starting a date with Italian man Davide.

But despite all his support for Gemma, Michael was not too pleased with his daughter’s mansion.

Speaking to ITV News earlier this week, the 42-year-old said: “I have no doubt that she would make all of us proud. It’s probably a father’s worst nightmare, but it’s true. whatever she wants to do you have to support..

“It’s different without her in the house. I have other kids and my wife, and it’s been quite difficult because she has to turn off her phone and we haven’t been in contact for a few weeks so it’s been difficult. a little rough.”

But who else is supporting Gemma’s return to Michael’s Chester mansion?

Here we take a look at the entire Owen clan.

Who is Michael Owen’s wife? Louise Bonsall?

Michael has been happily married to his wife Louise Bounsall since 2005.

The couple first met in 1984 and quickly became childhood love while attending Hawarden High School in Wales.

Michael questioned Louise on Valentine’s Day – also her birthday – in 2004.

Their wedding venue is believed to be the Carden Park Hotel in Chester, with the ceremony taking place on June 24, 2005.

Like her daughter Gemma, Louise has a passion for horses and started riding at the age of 7.

However, she was involved in a horror riding accident in January 2004.

The WAG suffered multiple injuries after being thrown from her horse by Isobelle, who landed on her in the accident.

Louise broke her back in two places and her hip and pelvis in five places, leaving the Countess of Chester Hospital in hospital for three weeks.

She was 23 years old then, while Gemma was only 8 months old.

After the accident, Louise began focusing on restoring health to horses and became patron of the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Center.

Who are Michael Owen’s other children?

Michael and Louise welcomed four children during their relationship.

In addition to Gemma Rose, the star couple also has James Michael, Emily May and Jessica.

Contestant Love Island is the eldest of four Owen children, born on May 1, 2003.

Son James followed in February 2006, while second daughter Emily May was born in October 2007.

Michael branded Gemma’s Love Island as ‘father’s worst nightmare’

The family went on to welcome their fourth child, Jessica, in February 2010.

Despite his successful football career, Michael admits he would love for his children to earn their own money.

Speaking on the Walk The Dog podcast about all four of his children, the former footballer said: “It’s really difficult from a parent’s point of view. You want to give your child the best start and the best chance. best.

“But you always have to wrestle with the fact that if I just made it so easy, and I could do this and do that, would she learn from any mistakes? ?”

He added: “You want money that much – have a pub on the side of the road, go to work behind a bar or something. That’s my point.”

While Gemma decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps with horses, Michael’s other children are equally interested in sports.

14-year-old Emily, still in school, has had several awards in athletics.

Last year, Michael shared his pride in Emily, saying: “Emily, today competed in the round of 16 of the UK Schools Athletics Championships at over 100m despite being smaller than the other competitors. One year old.”

Rare eye condition

Meanwhile, 16-year-old James has a passion for football – just like his famous dad!

Sadly, James’ hopes of becoming a professional football player went up in flames after he was diagnosed with a rare eye condition.

“He will never be a footballer. My son has an eye problem,” Michael said Time in 2019. “I never said this. I don’t want a big headline.

“Clinically, he is blind. He has Stargardt’s disease, a degenerative disease of the retina. I often go to see him and understand him about his ability to locate.

“He couldn’t see the ball until it was five yards away. Even though every father wants their son to play, that’s almost a relief to me.”

Michael’s youngest daughter is 12-year-old Jessica.
