However, according to Michael Steele, former Republican National Committee chairman, one moment during his speech in South Carolina this weekend stood out.

This line was recently inserted into his speeches and refers to his arrest and indictment last month.

“They want to take my freedom because I will never let them take your freedom,” he told the crowd.

But Steele, a longtime Trump critic from the right, doesn’t believe what he called “complete bullshit.”

As Steele suggests, the allegations against Trump have nothing to do with the freedom of others. He was charged with 37 counts related to alleged mishandling of classified information and obstructing government efforts to recover it.

Others accused of similar crimes have been routinely prosecuted and sentenced to prison terms.
