Microsoft expects the release date of GTA 6 in 2024

MICROSOFT expects the long-awaited game GTA 6 to be released in 2024, according to documents filed with the Competition and Markets Authority.

The manufacturers of the Xbox games consoles are submitting documents to the British competition authority in view of the attempted takeover of the games publisher Activision Blizzard.

In a recently submitted 111-page document available on the CMA websiteMicrosoft states that “the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in 2024”.

GTA 6 has been in development for quite some time and a massive leak of 90+ clips that surfaced in September 2022 showed that the game still has a long way to go before it’s ready for release.

The leaked videos apparently confirmed previous rumors that GTA 6 will feature a couple of protagonists – a man and a woman – in a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired story.

The clips also hinted that the upcoming game will be set in Vice City, the series’ fictional version of the real-life Miami.

Following the leak, GTA 6 publisher Rockstar Games issued a statement saying the game will not be delayed, but still without giving a release date.

It’s unclear if Microsoft has inside knowledge of GTA 6’s release date, but given the close relationship it has with third-party developers for its platform, it may well be.

Nevertheless, the company cites in the document from published leaks TechRadar as the basis of his expectations.

There is still no confirmed release date from Rockstar Games, nor any official gameplay videos of GTA 6.

If the projected release window turns out to be correct, we should expect official reveal trailers of the game from Rockstar soon.

GTA 6 has been a long time coming as GTA 5 was released back in 2013 and rumors have suggested that the sequel could have been in development as early as 2014.
