Jake Paul opens up on Tommy Fury’s next fight

Mike Tyson thinks it’s “cool” that YouTube stars Jake and Logan Paul challenged him to a boxing match.

Rings legend Tyson made his comeback in 2020 after 15 years of retirement when he fought Roy Jones Jr to a tie over eight rounds. Paul’s younger brother, Jake, was fighting on his undercard when he knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson in his second professional fight.

And since Tyson has returned, he’s been called up by a host of fighters, including former rival Evander Holyfield and the Paul brothers, who found fame on social media. But if podcast host Joe Rogan asked if the views annoyed himTyson said: “No, it doesn’t, I don’t think so. I think it’s great…I think it’s cool.”

“You can’t take yourself too seriously. I mean the world will turn against you if you take yourself too seriously. Who the hell am I to take myself too seriously? I made all this money, got this reputation and now it’s me looking at people, screwing them face down…I have a great life…how can I be mad at someone. Think about it? If my ego isn’t involved, then who can I really be and onto someone?”

Tyson and Paul have both denied reports that they were close to signing fight contracts earlier this year. But both men have teased the possibility of a show fight in the future. “Nobody told me that” Tyson said on his podcast when asked about a run-in with Jake. “Hey, I don’t have any damn money. So where’s the damn contract?

“I do not know anything about it. Look, I’ve been smoking with him for ages, I’ve also made some shrooms with him. But I’ve never heard that before. I went to a party with him in St. Barts not long ago and he never told me that.

“I’ve never heard that from anyone, I’ve only heard that from you guys. We gotta get some more man s***, blue eyed blonde hair, that’s very expensive, we need to get some extra money man.”

And Paul recently said: “I joke with my friends about it, I’m like I’m going to start eating Krispy Kreme donuts, go up to heavyweight and fight mike tyson. That would really get me excited, and that’s a $200-300 million event. So Mike, if you see this, let’s have some fun. New school vs. old school and I think that’s something the fans want to see.”
