According to reports, Arsenal are ready to splash out at the end of the season and sign six new players for a second summer.

The Gunners spent more than £150m in the summer transfer window overhauling their squad, but the big changes aren’t over yet Mikel Arteta.

Takehiro Tomiyasu, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard have all been signed on permanent contracts at the start of the season.

Those who came clearly made a difference with Arsenal up to fourth in Premier League thanks to a streak of eight wins from their last 10 matches.

Back to Champions League after 5 years of disastrous absence is now a real possibility and Evening Standard reports that recent positive form has prompted serious plans for the summer.

Mikel Arteta is making signing a striker a priority in the summer transfer window

Arteta and sporting director Edu are said to be interested in signing six new players: two strikers, a midfielder, a winger, a left-back centre-back and a right-back.

The priority is clearly up front, where the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah the only senior strikers at the club.

To make matters worse, both Lacazette and Nketiah are out of contract on July 1 and are being courted by Lyon and Crystal Palace corresponding.

The situation is nothing new and Arsenal are therefore considering bringing in two new strikers in the summer following their failed attempt to sign Dusan Vlahovic in January.

Alexander Isak of Real Sociedad, EvertonDominic Calvert-Lewin, Lille’s Jonathan David and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez are all within sight, while Chelsea Striker Armando Broja also caught the eye on loan with Southampton.

West Ham interested in both Nunez and Broja and Arsenal know they will face stiff competition on a large scale if they want to own a top-class striker.

Arsenal are currently in 4th place, one point ahead of Manchester Unitedwith the added advantage of having three matches in hand and no other competitions to focus on.

If they qualify for the Champions League for the first time since the 2016/17 season that would allow for greater spending in the transfer window.

Central midfield is another area of interest for Arsenal and the Premier League, with a trio of Douglas Luiz, Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans all being considered, while Palmeiras’ Danilo and Aston Villa’s Carney Chukwuemeka have all been signed.

Right-back is less of a priority, with Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares, but Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence is on the club’s radar.

A winger could also be needed if Nicolas Pepe moves in just three years after a record £72million move from Lille to the club.

Additions to the squad will require departures and Arsenal are hoping to loan Dinos Mavropanos to Stuttgart, Matteo Guendouzi to Marseille and Lucas Torreira to Fiorentina permanently.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is currently on loan with Roma, and Pablo Mari, who plays for Udinese, could both be sold for more money.

Meanwhile, William Saliba, who is on loan with Marseille, could make a quick return and finally make his Arsenal debut next season after a third consecutive loan spell in Ligue 1.
