Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher received a personal call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to personally thank the duo for their fundraising efforts
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a personal video call with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher to praise the Hollywood couple’s fundraising efforts in support of Ukrainian refugees.
The President shared a snap of the trio all speaking at a video conference call on Sunday, and Ashton, 44, retweeted the message.
The caption from the President’s official account read: “@aplusk & Mila Kunis were among the first to respond to our grief. They have already raised $35M and are sending it to @flexport & @Airbnb to help [Ukrainian flag] Refugees.
“Grateful for their support. Impressed by her determination. You inspire the world. #StandWithUkraine.”
Mila, 38, was born in Chernitvtsi, Ukraine and also retweeted the post.
Zelensky had also dubbed Ashton and Mila a “star couple” and thanked them for helping them believe in the country’s future.
In a statement on Monday, he said: “You are helping internally displaced people [internally displaced refugees] by raising funds. And the two have already raised [close to] $35 million.”
“I thanked them on behalf of our people and on behalf of all of us. That’s a good result for some of our friends in America.”
Mila and Ashton, who appeared together on That 70s Show, announced Thursday their fundraiser had reached a staggering $30 million and is currently only thousands of $35 million.
The couple have pledged $3 million of their own money to the Stand With Ukraine fund, which launched just over two weeks ago.
According to the United Nations, more than two million people have fled Ukraine, most of them to Poland.
In a recent update video, Mila said: “Over 65,000 of you have donated. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the support and while this is far from the solution to the problem, our combined effort will allow so many people a softer landing as they move forward into their uncertain future.”

Ashton added: “Our work is not done yet. We will do everything we can to ensure that the outpouring of love that has come from all of you as part of this campaign has maximum impact on those in need.”
“As monies continue to come in, we will treat every dollar as if it were donated from our pocket, with respect and honor for the work that earned it, with the intention of the love by which it was given and the Desire that it be maximized to positive outcome for others.
