Millie Mackintosh said she started taking the medication after becoming “more anxious than ever” during the lockdown.
He, 33-year-old former Made In Chelsea star, wrote a lengthy Instagram post describing how her anxiety has worsened after becoming a mother.
Mackintosh is married to Hugo Taylor, who also starred in the reality television series E4, and they have two young daughters.
“I have had anxiety for most of my life and have found useful tools (to) manage it,” she says.
“However, since locking lips and becoming a mother, my anxiety (especially social anxiety) really started to take over, taking over my thoughts making me feel trapped. stuck.
“I got into therapy, to try and understand where the anxiety was coming from, which meant visiting some painful experience from my teenage years with (the) hope it would release some bonding and anxiety, instead I found it really activated and became more anxious than ever.”
After talking to her therapist, Mackintosh said she decided to take a “low dose” of the drug while continuing with talk therapy.
“Although I know this is the best decision, I find it difficult to admit to myself and to my family that I need such help,” she said.
“I will always encourage and support friends and family in their own mental health journey but I guess it is different when you are the one in need.”
After a few months of taking the medication, along with regular exercise and sleep, Mackintosh said she felt “a lot better, a lot lighter.”
She added: “I can focus on being the best version of myself for the girls and my Hugo without worrying about stealing the joy from what should have been the happy moments. .

The reality TV star welcomed her first child, daughter Sienna, with Taylor in May 2020.
Their second child, Aurelia, was born in November 2021.
The couple got married in 2018.
Mackintosh was previously married to musician Professor Green.
