Millions are urged to check Facebook now – don’t ignore three important attitudes

It’s always important to check your Facebook security settings – otherwise you’re taking a risk.
Thankfully, there’s a handy (and easy) Facebook feature that will instantly increase your online security.
After all, Facebook is used by billions of people around the world – hence its users are a prime target for hackers and scammers.
Luckily, Facebook has a special feature called Security Checkup that ensures you have the best possible protection.
It checks three key settings to see if you’re making major mistakes.
“You can use Security Check to verify your account and add more security,” Facebook explained.
To find Security Checkup, first launch your Facebook app.
Then tap on the three lines (hamburger icon) to enter the menu.
Scroll down to Settings & privacy, then tap Settings.
Now select Password & Security at the top of the list.
You should now see an option that says Review your important security settings.
Tap on it and you will be taken to the Facebook security check.
If your account is fully protected, you’ll see “No issues found” at the top of the screen.
There are three criteria you can use to increase your security.
The first is a password check to ensure you have a strong and unique login.
Then there’s two-factor authentication, which means you’re given a text code to enter when you log into the app.
Never share these codes with anyone, as doing so could give a hacker access to your account.
The third and final setting is login warnings.
“We’ll let you know when someone logs into your account from a device or browser you don’t normally use,” Facebook explained.
Then you can check your account and log out all suspicious app sessions.
You can see who is logging in, where and on what device.
So if you don’t see something, remove the session from your account – and shut out potential intruders.
If someone has been able to access your account, you should change your password as a priority.
And remember, while these settings help keep you safe, no system is perfect.

So always be careful when you log into Facebook somewhere new or when someone online asks for your personal information.
