A tech expert from TIKTOK urges iPhone users to try a handy iPhone security feature that can help you weed out snoopers.

The security check feature gives you a quick overview of who has access to your photos, calendar, location and more.

It’s a way to reduce the number of people who can see your private information.

The security check was highlighted in a video posted by a TikTok user earlier this year @scottpoldermann.

It was introduced to the iPhone with the release of the iOS 16 software update in September.

According to Apple, it is aimed at “anyone who is concerned about, or is experiencing, technology-enabled abuse, stalking or harassment.”

Abusive partners, friends or family members are known to use victims’ iPhones to keep tabs on them.

For example, you can track them by sharing various apps and features such as photos, calendar, and location, among others.

The security check is a way to “sever digital connections to those you no longer want to be connected to,” Apple says.

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Security Check. You will see two functions: emergency reset and Manage sharing and access.

Emergency Reset provides a way to instantly lock access to your accounts. You may be asked for your Face ID or passcode to access it.

Manage Sharing and Access provides a way to conduct a more considered review of who has access to what on your device.

What is iOS 16?

Every year Apple releases a new version of its iOS software for iPhone.

This is the core operating system that powers the device and Apple’s delivers applicationsFeatures and Themes on your iPhone.

This year’s new version is called iOS 16 and it’s packed with new features iPhone Features Users Have Been Waiting For.

This includes a new lock screen with widgets, stylized portrait wallpapers and notifications that roll up from the bottom.

Messages is also getting a major update, allowing you to edit or retrieve recently sent messages, as well as recover recently deleted messages or mark conversations as unread.

lockdown mode and security check are also new to the iPhone game, adding security features that protect users from online hacking and abuse.

How to get iOS 16

To try iOS 16 for yourself, you need to update your iPhone software.

Go to Settings > General > Software update.

You can then type Update to iOS 16 at the bottom of the screen and then Download and install.

On some iPhones you will be redirected Download and install automatically.

You’ll be prompted to enter your iPhone passcode (if you have one) and then agree to Apple’s terms of service.

The download and installation process takes up to an hour. So make sure you send all important messages before you start.
