GOOGLE has stepped up security on Android even further with a handy new feature.

If you’ve opened incognito tabs in Chrome, there’s now a way to keep them completely private.

It should prevent wandering eyes from seeing things you need to hide, like a surprise birthday present.

For those unfamiliar with Incognito mode, this is a way to browse the web without saving history or other standard data about what you’ve been watching, unlike a regular tab.

Google decided to go one step further and allow users to lock incognito tabs.

Even if you leave it open to watch again later, no one else can take a peek.

This will require biometric authentication from you next time you go there.

Even better, Google makes it available to both Android and iOS users so iPhone owners don’t miss out.

The tech giant said it’s already available to all Chrome users on iOS.

And it is currently being rolled out for Android phone owners.

How to lock incognito tabs in Chrome

To enable incognito lock in Chrome, just open the app.

go over to settings and search Privacy & Security.

When you close Chome, you should see an option called Lock incognito tabs.

Switch that on.

Now when you open and exit an incognito tab in Chrome, no one else can see it.
