Millions of Android phone owners get amazing free upgrades from Google

GOOGLE is working on two clever upgrades for Android phones.

The tech giant is developing an update for the Google Play Store – the place where you download your apps.

Google is constantly working to improve its apps.

And two major changes currently in development have been announced ahead of release.

They were discovered by Tech Blog 9to5Googleand reveal really handy free upgrades that will be available for millions of Android phones.

The first is called Android App Archiving and it helps free up storage space on your phone.

With it, you can archive apps that you don’t use very often.

This will delete the app from your phone, freeing up potentially significant storage space.

However, it differs from deleting an app as your personal data is not deleted.

That means you can finally click “Restore” in an app and all your personal data will remain intact.

The Restore button replaces the Install button for an archived app.

You don’t need to log into your account again when restoring the app, and it should look the same as it did before you deleted it.

The second change is smaller but still handy.

Google adds a download progress bubble that appears on your screen while you get an app.

So if you browse other apps in the store, you can easily see how your current download is doing.

It’s unclear when exactly these two changes will roll out to everyone, but it’s likely very soon.
