Millions of Facebook and Google users warned of urgent changes you need to make — or it could cost you

Despite repeated warnings from experts, many people still use the same bad passwords.
Hundreds of thousands are jeopardizing valuable accounts for things like Facebook and Google by being lazy about security.
cyber news looked at 56 million leaked passwords in 2022 and found that many are still making the same mistake.
They show that more than 111,000 cases involved the simplest of them all, “123456”.
“Password” and “qwerty” also continue to play an important role.
But swear words also remain popular, with “a**” being used 292,869 times.

“F**k” was detected 79,564 times, while “s**t” was detected 36,388 times.
Famous football player names also made the list, with 4,137 using “Messi” and 4,749 using “Ronaldo”.
Those who work in IT have been warned that they, too, are using incredibly simple terms.
The default passwords used by employees with system access privileges included 16,981 instances of “admin”.
Simple passwords make it incredibly easy for hackers to guess and gain access to your personal accounts.
The strongest passwords contain various letters, numbers, and symbols, but these can be difficult to remember.

Instead, the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) recommends that you use three random words to create a long enough and strong enough password.
If you’re still having trouble remembering passwords, it might be a good idea to use a password manager.
