Millions of iPhone owners urged to update now after the tracking bug was revealed

A MAJOR vulnerability in Apple’s latest iOS has been revealed, meaning iPhone owners could be unknowingly being tracked.
Apple iPhone owners have been advised to update their iOS software immediately.
The vulnerability targeted the Apple Maps location tracking feature.
However, the usually very handy feature can be used for more nefarious purposes.
The flaw essentially allowed third parties to track an iPhone’s location without the user’s consent or knowledge.
Apple released its iOS 16.3 software just last month.
The update brought advanced data security for iCloud and security keys for Apple ID.
It also introduced a number of bug fixes and security updates.
But one major vulnerability was apparently left unaddressed in the release.
Apple is now rolling out a fix.

The tech company said the bug hides in the “logic issue” and allows apps to “bypass privacy settings.”
Users can customize which apps they allow to use tracking features.
To ensure they are protected, iPhone users should first ensure they have the latest iOS.
The update is available now in both iOS and iPadOS for the following devices:
- iPhone 8 and later
- All iPad Pro models
- iPad Air 3rd generation and above
- iPad 5th generation and above
- iPad mini 5th generation and above
iPhone users can then check which apps they allow access to their live location.
This can be done by heading Ideas > Privacy & Security > location services.
iPhone owners can then tweak which apps they allow access to such information and how often they can track their location.
