Millions of Netflix users got a free upgrade today – check your account now

NETFLIX is increasing the number of download devices an account can have at no additional cost.

However, the free boost is only available to those with a premium subscription.

Until today, you could use a maximum of four devices to download shows and movies offline, including your iPhone, iPad or Android device.

Now you get two extra, bringing the total to six.

Netflix said it realized people want the ability to download stuff on more of their gadgets, especially as they travel and switch between devices.

However, that’s not the only new benefit the streaming giant has unveiled.

In a brand new move, Netflix has announced it will introduce the “supreme audio experience,” making it more cinematic.

The company has already improved the audio of more than 700 of its most watched titles.

These include Stranger Things, The Watcher, Wednesday and Knives Out: Glass Onion.

Going forward, new additions will be treated the same as You, Your Place or Mine, Luther: The Fallen Sun, and Tour de France.

It’s also possible to search for “spatial audio” on Netflix to see anything that supports it.

The two upgrades could mitigate forthcoming changes, particularly a ban on password sharing with people outside of your household.
