Minecraft MOVIE coming soon ‘starring Game of Thrones star’

Reports have it that GAME of Thrones star Jason Momoa could star in the long-awaited Minecraft movie.

The muscular Hollywood icon is said to be in “final negotiations” to star in a blockbuster flick about the popular video game.

Momoa is best known for playing Khal Drogo game of Thrones and Aquaman in the DC film series.

A Minecraft movie has been discussed for around a decade.

But it’s back on track with Momoa in the running, according to a trio of reports from diversity, The Hollywood Reporter and The ankle.

The deal isn’t fully confirmed yet and there’s no release date for the film yet.

But Momoa, 42, could be a choice given his connection to geeky comic and fantasy franchises.

The Minecraft movie saga began way back in 2012.

At the time, game maker Mojang said it had received offers from Hollywood for TV shows.

In February 2014, it was announced that talks between Mojang and Warner Bros. Pictures for a film had begun.

The feature film was reportedly in the early stages of development as of October this year and was eventually set for release in May 2019.

The film was then pushed back to a March 4, 2022 release due to the Covid pandemic.

Warner Bros eventually pulled the film from its schedule and has yet to announce an official release window.

But the film seems to be back on track now, with a new director and Jason Momoa in a starring role.

Minecraft is one of the largest gaming franchises in the world.

It is a sandbox video game in which players collect materials and create their own structures and worlds.

Minecraft first went public in May 2009 before a full release in November 2011.

With more than 238 million copies sold, it is one of the best-selling video games of all time.

And around 140 million players log into Minecraft every month.

Minecraft was acquired by Microsoft for $2.5 billion in 2014.

It is available on a variety of platforms including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch apple tv.

Thrones star Momoa has had a rough year after announcing his split from his wife, 54-year-old Lisa Bonet, in January.

They have two children together: daughter Lola, 14, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13.

“We have all felt the pressure and changes of these times of upheaval,” the couple announced in a joint statement.

“A revolution is unfolding, and our family is no exception…it feels and grows with the seismic changes that are occurring.”

However, the couple was reportedly working on their marriage just a few weeks ago hollywood life.
