Minecraft Snapshot 22w42a – Get your hands on a camel early

WEEKLY SNAPSHOTS in Minecraft have started again, giving us early access to some upcoming features in Minecraft.

The 1.20 update for Minecraft isn’t far away, and the latest snapshot will allow us to try out and provide feedback on intended features before their full launch.

These smaller updates will be released more frequently while the team continues to work on the much larger ones.

Starting today, if you have Minecraft Java Edition, you can try all of the features listed below.

Experimental Functions

A toggle has been added to the menu, allowing you to toggle so-called experimental features on or off.

This allows you to choose to try incomplete features that will be tested in-game.

The toggle is in the data pack menu when creating a new world.

1.20 features for snapshot

All the official features of update 1.20, like camels and bamboo wood, will all be available in Snapshot.

You can try them all now, but be aware that they may not look the same in the final version.

Creative inventory changes

If you don’t have an in-depth knowledge of all the materials in Minecraft, figuring out the creative inventory can be difficult.

Various tabs have been redesigned so that the same categories of blocks are together.

Items that fit into multiple categories are displayed on multiple tabs, making them easier to find.

There’s still a search bar for those who get lost.

New wood sounds

Each different type of wood makes a different sound each time it is placed, broken, or stepped on.

They have also been grouped into three different categories: Overworld, Nether, and Bamboo.

This feature was planned for The Wild update but is only now being released for the first time.

Bundles help you carry multiple types of items in a single inventory slot that can hold up to 64 items at a time.

Your inventory won’t grow, but it will help those who are struggling with organization.

As with all experimental features, it must be activated before it can be used.
