Miranda is set to return after a seven-year absence from the British screen.
The last episode of the hit BBC comedy was on New Year’s Day 2015 but top star Miranda Hart has announced that she has finished writing a fourth series.
The BBC has yet to confirm that the show will return but the 49-year-old actress and comedian said Sun : “A lot of lovely people have kept asking for Miranda’s return so here we are and I hope everyone enjoys it.”

“I think of them from time to time, like you’d say to a friend you haven’t seen in a while, ‘Oh, what are they going to do.’ And so I definitely had some thoughts on where to go. they can be and what will happen to all of them.
“The circumstances don’t quite fit. But there’s something that I’d like to say I don’t rule out now.
“While a few years after it ended, I completely finished it and that’s it.” There is also unconfirmed talk of a live show going on.
Miranda previously announced in January 2021 that she would be taking a break from her career following the death of her beloved dog Peggy. The shih tzu/bichon cross has been Miranda’s companion since 2007 and was also the inspiration behind her 2016 memoir Peggy and Me.
The former Call the Midwife star said she will take a break from work and social media to relieve her sadness.
In an Instagram statement at the time, she said: “Dog owners like you will know the overwhelming sadness of losing your loyal, loving best friend.
