Missy Keating was offered ‘Love Island’ before her brother Jack

‘Love Island’ star Jack Keating said his sister Missy was initially approached to join the reality dating show.

Brother Dubliner (23), who works in social media marketing, left the show last Friday after failing to find a romantic connection with any of the girls in Casa Amor.

He revealed this morning that it’s his ‘Dancing with the Stars’ sister (age 21), a model and actress, who’s been scouted by producers to star on the hit show .

“Initially, they asked my sister Missy to do it early last year. Then my family said, ‘Jack, why don’t you do that?’ And I said, ‘Why don’t I do that?’

“So I had to do all my parts and a couple of months later I was doing the show so it was pretty crazy,” he said.

“She (Missy) definitely thought about that. But I don’t think that’s what she’s going to do. Obviously she did DWTS this year but I think she wanted to go down the acting path and follow her own little path.”

He spoke to 98FM’s Big Breakfast with Rebecca and Brendan about how he kept the news of his appearance on the show private for the first month.

“I really didn’t tell anyone, I didn’t tell my mom, my dad or anyone in my family. I didn’t tell anyone until I had to go so I kept as quiet as possible,” he said.

When he announced the news to his celebrity parents Ronan Keating and TV presenter Yvonne Connolly, their reaction was a mix of “anxiety and excitement.”

“It was my first time being on a reality TV show and they didn’t know how I would react to the whole situation.

“But everyone, my dad and my mom, was buzzing for me when I got it,” he said.

“It was a crazy, crazy couple of days. We had four full days there and it was truly nonstop. I had the best time ever.

“Obviously I don’t find any romantic relationship other than friendship, with girls and boys we could end up being life partners. It was a crazy, crazy time. Unbelievable.”

As for the islanders he feels he has a connection with, he cited Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne and said she invited him out for a night out in Swansea when she goes out.

“Me and Paige are very, very good. When I was there, we got along really well, she was such a nice girl and easy to talk to. But that obviously didn’t show up on the show, which to my surprise, I can’t lie,” he said.

Jack, who lives in London with his dad Ronan, says he and some Islanders went out to the UK capital last night, where he got his first taste of celebrity life.

“From not being on the show to hanging out there for three weeks to coming back, it’s a whole different world. It’s crazy trying to get used to everything,” he said.

When asked who his favorite couple won on the show, he gave Davide and Ekin-Su.

“I think for sure the two of them will be gone the longest,” he said.

Jack says he’s “so grateful” for everything that happened and that “life has changed a lot for me.”
