Mitchell Ryan, best known for his roles in Lethal Weapon and Dark Shadows, has died at the age of 88 from heart failure.
US actor Mitchell Ryan has died at the age of 88.
The Lethal Weapon and Dark Shadows died of congestive heart failure early Friday morning, his agent confirmed.
Ryan is best known for playing ex-con Burke Devlin on the iconic TV show Dark Shadows before leaving the popular series in 1967.
Kathryn Leigh Scott played Devlin’s lover Maggie Evans on the daytime soap.
In a tribute to her late on-screen lover, Scott wrote, “My sweet, beloved friend Mitch passed away this morning.
“He was a great gift in my life. I cherish my warm memories of his beautiful soul. I am devastated.”
During his decades-long acting career, Ryan has worked with the likes of Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
He also gave a notable portrayal of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner.
He has also appeared on a number of TV shows including All My Children, Golden Girls and Murder, She Wrote.
