Modest Kate Middleton adapted her stunning £3,000 dress for the Top Gun: Maverick premiere to make it less revealing.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a streamlined £3,000 black and white dress to Thursday’s gala event in Leicester Square.

Afterward, a fan account noted that she made a key change to make her red carpet appearance with husband Prince William and Tom Cruise.

The original dress featured a sheer mesh lace panel as well as a long exposed gold zipper at the back, while Kate’s had a plain black back.

The report wrote: “The Duchess looked glamorous in a form-fitting monochrome gown as she attended the premiere of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ in London tonight.

“The chic black and white design of @roland_mouret features an off shoulder bardot style neckline in contrast white, banded sleeves, a fitted silhouette and a fluted hem. The original dress featured a sheer mesh panel at the back, but Catherine’s version was modified.

“Catherine wore a new pair of statement earrings tonight @robinsonpelham – the same label that created her wedding earrings.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Instagram account posted after their night out with the Hollywood royalty: “Wonderful to be joining Tom Cruise, the cast, crew and fans of Top Gun: Maverick at this evening’s UK premiere .

“The premiere supports the work of @filmtvcharity, which helps the tens of thousands of people who work behind the scenes at the world’s leading British film and television industry.”

Meanwhile, a body language expert has claimed the Duchess of Cambridge forced husband Prince William into “retreat mode” when she met Hollywood star Tom Cruise.

The superstar actor walked the royal couple down the red carpet at the royal premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in the UK last night.

That Actor has been hailed as the “perfect gentleman”. after royal fans spotted a sweet moment between him and Kate.

When it came to climbing several steep steps when she and William met the rest of the film’s cast, Tom kindly offered his hand to Kate.

According to body language expert Judi James, William played “second fiddle” to the actor at the encounter, who together with Kate looked like a pair of “glitzy A-list celebrities”.

Judi told The Mirror: “When William sweetly slipped into his fanboy shoes with embroidered jets Top Gun style for the premiere of the film, it ever occurred to him that he might end up spending a few minutes doing it to play second fiddle down the red carpet as his wife was joined by the legendary Tom Cruise?

“Even putting a hand over his as he very gallantly offered it as she climbed the stairs in her stunning form-fitting sheath dress?”

“For a minute they looked like two glitzy A-list celebrities there posing together to bag their new movie.

“From the moment Kate spotted Tom she was engaged in a very animated conversation with him, suggesting that she had set out to chat and when she greeted him with the full force of her stunning Smile struck, it was possible to see William momentarily. Retreat mode, sucking in his lips and raising his hand to his bow tie in a look of cheerful submission.
