Moises Caicedo dedicated his second Albion goal to his family, who came to support him.
The Ecuador star was cheered on by his father, sister and girlfriend as they enjoyed a trip to the Amex.
Caicedo kept cool after some great work from Enock Mwepu.
He said: “I was just thinking about scoring a goal and dedicating the goal to my family who were here at the stadium.
“It’s their second time here in the stadium, but it’s the first time they’ve been able to celebrate one of my goals.
“I’m really glad they were here.”
Caicedo was the subject of transfer speculation during the summer window but that will settle down now that the deadline has passed.
He said the conversation never bothered him, adding: “I’m very happy here in Brighton.
“I can’t think of any club other than Brighton.
“This is the club I’m at now and I will give everything for this club and continue to do well here.”
