Molly-Mae reveals she first met Maura at Cove beach in Dubai

Molly-Mae Hague has revealed that she and best friend Maura Higgins didn’t actually meet for the first time in their Love Island mansion in 2019.

The former reality TV star, 23, has explained how she and the Irish beauty, 31, actually discovered each other on holiday last year when they co-starred on the ITV2 series – with Molly-Mae returns to the site of their first meeting during her recent trip to Dubai and reveals all about the first time she laid eyes on Maura.

Molly-Mae’s brief tidbit about the origins of her friendship with the Glow Up host comes as she reveals in her memoir how she really feels about her boyfriend Tommy Fury’s friendship with Maura – after their brief flirtatious friendship in the Love Island mansion.

Today, Maura and Molly-Mae are close friends, but at one point the pair almost became love rivals.

When Maura first arrived at the Love Island mansion as a blockbuster in 2019, the model and TV personality had her eye on Molly-Mae’s man.

Of course, Tommy only had his eye on Molly-Mae and Maura made it to the final along with the pair and her partner at the time, Curtis Pritchard.

Writing in her recent memoir, Molly-Mae reflects on the time when her current best friend fell in love with her current boyfriend.

“Of course on Love Island she cares a little about Tommy, but that’s no problem there,” the best-selling author wrote of her friendship with Maura.

“After Tommy started getting closer to me, she said to me, ‘Look, I’ll never go near him that way again, you know,’ and we’ve been best friends ever since. each other’s.”

She went on to explain how she often visits the former Dancing On Ice contestant in Essex, and adds how much she and Tommy are really good friends.

Molly-Mae adds that, before revealing, she often gets a lot of questions about how to be comfortable with their friendship.

“When you have a friend like Maura, you can totally count on it,” she said, ending a comment on the situation.
