A 26-year-old mother tragically died after falling asleep during a car ride because “she wasn’t feeling well”.

Nikita Lomax was in the car on a journey back from Wales when the mother-of-one said she wasn’t feeling very well.

She told her partner, 42-year-old Jon Noble, that she would get some sleep and fell asleep. This was reported by the Manchester Evening News .

However, as Jon approached Manchester, he realized something was wrong and raced straight to the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

For 30 desperate minutes, doctors worked to save Nikita’s life before breaking the heartbreaking news to Jon that there was nothing else they could do for her.

Jon said the doctors told him Nikita might have suffered a blood clot but they are still awaiting the result of an autopsy which is unlikely to come back until next week.

Nikita, who lived with Jon in Bacup, Lancashire, left a 19-month-old daughter named Kavana-Rose.

Jon said: “She was a brilliant person. She was a very happy and great mother. She was outgoing and always wanted to do something.

“She has had her own mental health issues in the past after seeing her brother die after being hit by a car. She obviously never got over it, but she was dealing with it really well.

“When she got pregnant she changed that and she was brilliant. Our daughter is 19 months old and her name is Kavana Rose.

“She was Nikita’s world. She meant everything to her and she was always planning for the future.”

The couple had traveled to Wales to take their daughter to visit Jon’s brother in Wales on Saturday May 21.

They had enjoyed a day together playing in the garden, but in the early hours of the morning Nikita said she wasn’t feeling well and asked to go home.

“We were about 15 miles from Manchester and she said she was tired and fell asleep next to me. I thought she was asleep but then I realized something was really wrong and drove her straight to the Manchester Royal Infirmary,” Jon said.

He added: “When I got to the emergency room I couldn’t see anyone there but I found some paramedics in an ambulance. They got to the car and started chest compressions and took her away on a stretcher.

“They came and got some details from me and asked me to wait in an adjoining room. It was about half an hour and they came and told me there was nothing else they could do for her.”

Jon said Nikita was hospitalized a few weeks before her death after experiencing chest pains and is said to be awaiting further tests for an “abnormal blood result”.

Nikita’s friend has since started a GoFundMe page to help Jon and the family raise funds for a funeral.

Her friend Julie wrote: “We have recently lost our loving niece, daughter, sister, wife and mother at the tragic age of 26.

“She left behind a loving partner and a beautiful little girl, as well as family members who loved her dearly. I am hoping to raise funds to help her partner with funeral expenses and perhaps something to set aside for her daughter’s future.

“This was a shocking and tragic loss that no one expected. Nikita fell asleep and did not wake up. Please help us raise some money to help her partner give her the second break she deserves.”

Jon added: “It was a really big shock. She was only 26. We just want to give her the best possible farewell because she deserves the best. She will be missed by so many people.”
