Mom cancels daughter because she complains she’s ‘bored’

A mother urges parents not to let young children use cell phones – when she asked her five-year-old to stop using hers and she threw a massive tantrum.

Destiny Nicole Maes took to TikTok after recording her daughter Sienna’s epic reaction when asked to stop using her phone.

In the clip, Sienna can be heard screaming, crying and yelling at her mother – who remains calm and reminds the boy that she has other items to play with, including a room full of toys.

Destiny went on to say that she gave Sienna her first phone when she was just a year old, and now others have commended the mom for correcting the mistake.

Destiny captioned the clip, “This is what happens when I made the mistake of giving her an electronic (device) around a year old.

“Now that we realize it’s affecting her, (she) doesn’t do any activities other than being on the phone.”

In the clip, Destiny can be heard arguing with her daughter, saying, “There’s a little girl out there who would kill for your room, Sienna.

“There is a little girl in the world who has nothing. And do you know what she would do if she had your room?

“She would play with all the toys. She wouldn’t worry about a phone at your age.”

Destiny said she recorded the video to seek advice from other parents, and soon people began commenting on the popular video.

One said: “If no one has told you before, I applaud you for learning from your mistakes AND adapting accordingly.”

Then a second added: “Some parents don’t realize this has such an effect – great awareness video.”

And a third wrote: “Thank you for raising awareness of how serious a phone addiction is!!”

Destiny soon released a follow-up video, stating that she was considering taking away all electronic devices from her daughter.

She said: “At this point we’re thinking about taking it away permanently because I don’t know what to do. She doesn’t understand and I tried to explain it to her.”
