A furious mum believes her driveway is being used by airport scammers after a mysterious car was parked outside her home for five days
Debbie Flynn and her partner Leon found the silver Vauxhall Mokka outside their garage near Birmingham International Airport.
Stunned, she called West Midlands Police, who confirmed it had not been stolen.
However, they also said they were powerless to move the offending vehicle as it was a civil matter.

Debbie tells BirminghamLive : “It’s like the car just fell out of the sky. It’s a complete mystery.
“We don’t understand how or why this happened, but since the owner hasn’t returned all week, we suspect someone sold a spot in my driveway near the airport.”
She continued: “We went to bed around 10.30pm on Tuesday night and when my partner woke up the next morning it was parked in our driveway.
“The cheeky G**s opened my gate and parked it and closed the gate after leaving it on the lawn.
“The policeman who came to us said he had never seen anything like it in all his years. I’m angry because there is no law preventing someone from parking in your driveway.
“It’s perfectly legal, so the police can’t help. But if we tried to move it and damaged it, we would have committed an offence. The kids can’t even play outside in the driveway now in case they accidentally damage a kick ball or something.”
Since a driveway is part of a property, anyone who parks on it is technically considered trespassing.
This is a civil, not a criminal offence, explained John Charnock of Stress Free Car Rental.
He has also said that if a car has current MOT, taxes, insurance and is not in a position where it could endanger anyone nearby, the council is powerless to move it either.
Debbie has appealed on Facebook, but no one has come forward.
She chained the tire, so when the driver comes back, he has to knock on her door and explain why he parked there.
Debbie added: “Police said there are parking apps used by scammers who advertise driveways to unsuspecting people as parking and charge car owners a fee. I want answers – when, how, why and who did you pay?
“We just have to sit and wait for the owners to come back. This is an absolute joke.
“I’m angry and disgusted that anyone can park Tom, Dick and Harry in your driveway and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
