Postmen and women across the country will no doubt have some war tales to tell about over-excitable dogs on the other side of the mailbox.
However, few would believe that a fluffy little bunny can wreak such havoc by “guarding” its owner’s belongings.
Amused mum Erin Rushton has now revealed the pesky note the postman left after confronting her three “super friendly” yet apparently quite intimidating bunnies, Lola, Bonni and Doc.
In the note, the harassed postman explained that he had no choice but to leave Erin’s package elsewhere, explaining, “Closet side of the house. Guard Killer Bunnies!”

Erin, 29, bought the trio of mischievous bunnies for her children during lockdown hoping they would help her daughter with her anxiety.
She says they love human company and will run up to visitors, so no doubt were thrilled when they approached their new Postie pal.
Erin, who lives in Sheffield, took to Facebook with a snap of the hilarious note, writing: “I have three free roaming bunnies who can roam anywhere in the garden and love visitors.
“They’re super friendly and will hop down to the gate when they see it’s open.”

She continued: “I can only imagine what the poor postman had to endure when he walked in! The bunnies are therapy animals and I originally bought them for my daughter to help her with her anxiety.
“They are always happy to greet anyone who comes and visits and I can imagine the postman had them walking around his feet as he passed.
“Whether it’s DPD or a milkman – when they hear the side gate rattling, they’re there in a flash to greet them.
Erin’s Facebook post has since gone viral, earning her followers a good chuckle at the furry gang of “tiny menacing thugs.”
One person wrote: “This is awesome you need a sign for your gate beware of killer bunnies.”
Another joked: “Nobody said how they kill. Maybe he was scared of dying of cuteness.”
