A mum has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video revealing what she’s finding most challenging since having a baby – and thousands of parents agreed with her
A mother was applauded for her honest admission about the difficulties of being a parent.
Bailey McPherson has amassed a following of nearly 300,000 followers on her TikTok account @bmcpher by sharing fun videos of being a mom with her adorable three-year-old daughter, Noah.
But one of her latest videos, which has garnered more than 440,000 views, resonated with her audience more than her others, particularly jaded parents, as she spoke candidly about her experience.
Bailey captioned the video, “It’s not fair,” and said she longed for freedom, just as her husband still did.

“I wish I had known how hard it is to be a mom before I became one,” she says.
“Not that I could change my decision, but maybe I wouldn’t have been so shaken up if I had been prepared if I had been warned with the harsh reality.”
“Every time she screams as I try to step out the door to gain a little bit of independence, something that hasn’t left her father, I wish I knew the imbalance we would endure,” she said .
“That I would have to change my whole life, my whole being, everything I am and was.
“The guilt, the pressure, the weight I have to carry on my hip day and night while it stays the same.”
Since posting, the video has garnered nearly 60,000 likes and 2,400 comments from people praising its honesty.
“Thank you for your honesty. That’s why I don’t want kids,” said one. “Hearing these experiences is very affirming.”
“The honesty is so pure and I really appreciate it. Motherhood is always so glamorized and it used to make me feel horrible because I didn’t want it,” wrote another.
“I’m surprised more people aren’t aware of this. It was something I’ve known since I was little and a reason I won’t have kids,” commented another.
“I wish my husband would understand that my whole life changed when she was born while he stayed exactly the same, it’s so lonely,” confessed one mother.
“I’ve never been so involved with anything in my life,” agreed another.
While it was clear that many mothers felt the same as her, those whose children have grown up reassured Bailey that while it was a difficult time, it would pass and she would miss it when her daughter was older.
