Monkeypox cases up 38% with 219 new cases – check cases near you

The number of monkeypox cases in the UK has risen by 219, officials have confirmed.

This afternoon, the UK Health Safety Authority (UKHSA) announced that the total now stands at 793.

London remains the epicenter of the country’s outbreak, the latest figures show.

The number of confirmed cases by region are:

• London-498
• southeast 37
• Northwest – 26
• East England – 20th
• West Midlands – 12th
• Yorkshire and Humber-12
• East Midlands – 8
• Southwest – 6th
• Northeast – 5th

The agency said the location of 142 cases is still under investigation.
