Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak Expansion officially has a release date of June 30, 2022 on Switch and PC via Steam.
Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced a bunch of new details about the expansion during today’s Monster Hunter digital event. A new trailer introduced the new story, new outpost hub, new monsters to hunt, and new abilities to gain after completing the base game. Check out the trailer above.
The digital-only version of Sunbreak will cost $39.99, while the Deluxe version costs $49.99, but comes with layered armor, hairstyles, and gestures. Those who want a physical copy can purchase a limited-edition Collector’s Edition for $99.99, which comes with a digital voucher for the Deluxe Edition, steel carrying case, amiibo of the commodity monster New Malzeno heads, stickers and pins.
Players who pre-order any version of Sunbreak will receive “Loyal Dog” and “Striped Cat” layered armor for their Palico and Palamute companions. After the game launches, players will be able to purchase three of Malzeno’s new amiibos to unlock more armor for Palico and Palamute companions.
Sunbreak has been compared to Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion in size and scope and includes the new Elder Dragon Malzeno, Master for quests and more.
