Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is getting a digital event with new gameplay info on May 10th

Capcom has announced a Monster Hunter Ascension Live stream that’s all about what’s to come sun break DLC.

Announced on the official Monster Hunter Twitter account, the event will feature “exciting reveals of new gameplay info, monsters, and more in the next Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Digital Event”! It is scheduled for May 10th at 3pm BST/4pm CEST and will be presented by director Yoshitake Suzuki.

Aside from what was mentioned in the tweet, the details are pretty minimal in terms of what we can expect from the event. Last month, Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak would be released on June 30th. During this livestream, some new details about the DLC were revealed.

The story of Sunbreak will depend on the events of defending Kamura village against the Rampage ending in the main game. As word of this survival spreads, the knight Dame Fiorayne seeks you out to take you to the Elgado Outpost. There you will find a lab that studies monster activities troubling the kingdom as well as the command post. You will also meet some new characters like the knights of the royal order Admiral Galleus, a scientist named Bahari, Minayle the blacksmith, the merchant Oboro and the quest giver Chichae.

Of course it wouldn’t be Monster Hunter without new monsters, so Capcom gives us three of them. They are collectively called the Three Lords, known individually as Garangolm, Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and Elder Dragon Malzeno. A few variants and returning favorites will also appear, such as the Blood Orange Bishaten.

New armor sets and weapons have also been released to help players prepare for the expansion.

Also, some new versions of Monster Hunter Rise will be available. One is a digital-only edition with Sunbreak, there will be a deluxe edition that includes bonus content like layered armor sets, emotes, and hairstyles. Or if you like holding games in your hands, there will be a new Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak edition for Switch.
