A woman on Coronation Street is said to have been fired for taking a selfie with Andi Peters on the set of ITV.

Matthew Davidge has starred on the TV series for 36 years, and he said he was fired when it was discovered he posed for a cheeky photo with TV presenter Andi , who was filming a Good Morning Britain contest on cobblestones.

54-year-old man told Sun he was “indulging in loo” during filming on Friday when he spotted Andi, and decided to ask him to pose for a socially distant photo.

He agreed quickly with Matthew, and a Good Morning Britain crew member snapped the photo on the woman’s phone.

But he was dealt a blow on Monday when he was told he had been fired from his management company, Industry Model Management, who said he had “breached the terms of his contract”. their own” prohibits them from using their cell phones on set.

The Bolton-born star said he has taken dozens of selfies with the stars, but has never been reprimanded, to date.

“You can’t leave your phone where it is, but everyone else can. It was a real rule that was never enforced,” Matthew explained, when he said it was a “bit of fun” to ask Andi for a bit.

“The entire interaction took less than a minute. Now I don’t know how I’m going to pay my bills,” he added sadly.

A Coronation Street spokesperson said: “During the filming of a GMB competition segment on set last week, a roaming artist violated filming procedures and his agent has been informed. newspaper, they decided to take action.
