Morning drive: breakdown in Cork’s Jack Lynch Tunnel; Traffic building on M50

Delays are occurring on some key routes across the country this morning and motorists have been urged to “drive carefully”.

n Cork there was a breakdown in the Jack Lynch tunnel at Junction 11 Dunkettle southbound.

Traffic builds up in Dublin on the M50 southbound and in the city centre.

There was a breakdown at exit 16 Cherrywood.

Delays of seven minutes were reported between Exit 5 Finglas and Exit 7 Blanchardstown.

Traffic is also heavy from before exit 9 Red Cow to exit 12 Scholarstown.

Long delays have been reported on the N1 between Whitehall and Griffith Avenue.

Meanwhile, LiveDrive said a new routing is in place on Nicholas Street and traffic bound for Winetavern Street will be reduced from two lanes to one.
