A SUPERMARET chain has launched its first plans to revitalize a city center – and is asking for the public’s help.
Morrisons has shared pictures of what the Meridian Center, Peacehaven, will look like and said the project will create 390 jobs.
The new ‘vibrant’ town center will include a range of commercial, retail and community facilities – with a new Morrisons supermarket at its heart.
Justin Lawrence, Senior Property Manager at Morrisons, said: “This development presents a great opportunity to provide a new city center for Peacehaven and its community.
“Our investment will create local jobs and improve shopping in a city currently poorly served by large supermarkets.
“We want to hear the public’s views, so we would be grateful if people could come to our exhibition or visit the consultation website to get more information and let us know what they think of the plans.”
Local residents have their say through a new consultation website – www.morrisons-peacehaven.co.uk – and a public consultation exhibition.
People will be able to get more information and provide feedback directly to Morrisons.
The public exhibition will be held on Friday, September 30 from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday, October 1 from 10am to 2pm in the vacant Unit 4/5 of the Meridian Center.
A planning application for the principle, scope and design of the development will shortly be submitted to Lewes District Council.
