Motorists baffled by parking sign – but can you figure out what it means?

DRIVERS stunned by a dingy parking sign listing seemingly conflicting rules.
A motorist in Sydney, Australia, stopped after being confused by the enigmatic sign.
They shared an image of the ambiguous notice on Reddit in hopes of interpreting its ambiguous message.
It showed a white sign attached to a lamppost, crossing a “P” parking sign with a red line – indicating drivers could not park their cars there.
But under the emblem, the sign read: “Motor vehicles excluded.”
Although this alluded to cars not being included in the rule, the social media user was left stumped.
Other internet sleuths quickly came to the poster’s aid, stating that trailers and caravans could not park there.
But people were stunned that the sign over-complicated its message, and many felt it wasn’t clear enough.
Some even suggested it would open the floodgates for motorists to misinterpret the parking notice.
One wrote: “You could have put it just as simply, right?”
Another said: “Then why don’t they just write ‘don’t park your trailers here’ instead of that damn cryptogram?”
A third suggested: “Complain to the local council.
And a fourth confessed: “I thought it was called motorcycles at first and was about to call you an idiot ha. Then I read it again.”
Redditers also pointed out that the sign was not an official one put up by Sydney authorities, but a sign made by a resident himself.
One said: “This is not an official sign. I suspect a local resident screwed on the pole to discourage people from parking in front of their house.”
Another joked: “This is clearly a sign created by Satan. Get an exorcist.”
According to North Sydney Council’s website, locals are not allowed to park large vessels such as trailers on the street.
“If a trailer is coupled to a motor vehicle, the combination is considered a motor vehicle and would therefore be exempt from the restrictions,” it explained.
