Mrs. Hinch fans share a hack to get rid of weed quickly and easily

Fans of cleaning guru Mrs. Hinch have shared her weed removal advice, suggesting a solution that’s quick, easy, and effective — and best of all, it doesn’t use chemicals

Everyone knows how difficult it can be to remove unwanted weeds from your garden, but now fans of cleaning expert Ms. Hinch have joined forces to find a solution.

Sophie Hinchliffe regularly shares cleaning tips on her social media pages and has become something of a cultural icon, boasting over four million followers on Instagram alone.

Her fans are so excited they’ve created a Facebook page in her name, teaming up to share their ‘Mrs Hinch’ tips – and recently turned their attention to dandelions, the Daily Express reports .

One user asked how to get rid of the tricky weeds without ruining her garden and true to form the group soon came up with a brilliant solution.

In the group, Debbie Shelton asked, “How can I kill dandelions without destroying my lawn. Thanks.”

Debbie’s post received more than 230 comments from gardening enthusiasts, and the most popular solution was to ‘dig’ it up with a knife, screwdriver or other cutting tool.

Jean Quinn said: “Removing dandelions in the lawn. Cut out the dandelion with a long knife. The roots are at least four to six inches deep.

“Make a deep downward cut on all four sides around it and the dandelion and its long taproot will come out whole, leaving no bits of root to regrow.”

Kimberley Duffy commented, “I dig them out of my lawn with a sharp knife.”

Lucy Spyrou wrote: “Butter knife – dig them up. Scatter topsoil and grass seed. Good to go.”

Clare Durie replied, “I’ll dig up the dandelion with a screwdriver so you can get to the root! I wouldn’t use weed killer as that will also kill the bees if they land on it.”
