MSNBC hosts Mehdi Hasan and Ayman Mohyeldin poked fun at the recent incident of “feigned outrage” by Republicans on Sunday.
Many in the Republican Party were outraged by Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment on Friday of US Attorney David Weiss as special counsel in the federal investigation into Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden.
“‘Make Weiss special counsel,’ they said,” Hasan noted. “Now they’re like, ‘Well, Garland did exactly what we wanted. And now we’re mad at Garland for doing exactly what we wanted.’”
“Their bad faith, their hypocrisy is truly a sight to behold. And also a reminder that you can’t placate Republicans,” he added.
Mohyeldin agreed, saying it was just “about politics and trying to smear President Joe Biden.”
“It’s all a joke,” Hasan said.
“It is,” Mohyeldin confirmed.
