Muller Yoghurt site evacuated as bomb squad dispatched to ‘suspicious package’

Bomb disposal experts have been called to the Muller Yoghurt site in Shropshire after a suspicious package was discovered and a cordon put in place this evening

Bomb disposal experts are working on a suspicious package found near the Muller Yoghurt site.
Residents at the Shropshire compound have been advised to avoid the area as the investigation continues tonight.
West Mercia Police tweeted: “We are currently at the Muller location in #MarketDrayton, #shropshire after a suspicious package was detected.
“Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) bomb disposal experts have been briefed and will be arriving at the site shortly.”
A large cordon was erected around the site.
The police report continued: “A 100 meter cordon has been put in place on the A53 from Muller roundabout to Tern Hill roundabout and the nearby McDonalds has been closed.

“People are being asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”
Despite the seriousness, several took to social media to joke about the incident.
One said: “I hope nobody gets hurt with yogurt.”
Another added: “I hope the perpetrator is cornered soon.”
