It was reported that Merseyside Fire and Rescue Services dispatched five fire engines to the scene and all residents of the property and neighboring properties were also forced to evacuate.

A neighbor told ECHO about the horror: “The fire must have started around 8 a.m. because I was in my back garden drinking my coffee until about half past seven and I didn’t see anything at all. Around 8:20 a.m. I was about to go to school, or 8:25 to be exact, and my kids walked out into the front yard and they started yelling, “Mom, look at the smoke over the house.”

“I was panicking, I thought there was something in the back garden. When I ran into the back garden because of the trees, I couldn’t see much, I just saw a lot of smoke. I heard people yelling and saying, “Out, out, out,” panicking, screaming – so I called the fire department and brought the kids inside.”

The woman said the fire department had already received a call about the fire and within 30 seconds several fire engines, ambulances and the police had arrived. She said people from neighboring houses also had to be evacuated and were seen standing in the street in their pajamas.

She added: “It looked like the whole house was on fire because of the amount of smoke coming through the roof. It was really bad. I just hope everyone is doing well.”

The fire has now been fully extinguished and most residents are back in their homes after being told to leave the house this morning.

No injuries were reported but people were asked to avoid the area and keep their windows and doors closed.

An investigation is being carried out to determine the cause of the fire.

A spokesman for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Services said: “The main seat of the fire was extinguished around 9.30am and crews continued to search for hotspots with the fire fully extinguished around 10.40am.

“Fire crews have been conducting house fire safety checks at neighboring properties. An investigation into the cause of the fire is taking place.”
