Mum left scared and in tears after the neighbor in the next row “smeared poop on the front door”.

A mother has claimed that a years-long argument with her neighbor ended with him “smearing dog poop on her front door” as a parting gift when he moved out of the building

In early 2021, Courtney Cobb and boyfriend Jay Chapman, 23, moved into a block of flats in Wallsend, North Tyneside.

Initially, the couple say they were friendly with all of their neighbors, but things soon took a lopsided turn with one person they call their “nightmare neighbor.”

They said they eventually filed a series of complaints with their landlord and the police, as the unnamed man often smoked outside their apartment and played loud music, which worried them as they had a newborn baby at home.

A feud between the neighbors dragged on for months and eventually the man decided to move out and returned his keys earlier this month.

But on the way out, the mum, 20, claims he stopped on her doorstep for one last “bitter” act.

Courtney believes the man smeared dog poop on her front door and on the door handle.

However, the neighbor denied being the perpetrator.

Police confirmed that they took part in the incident, but no arrests were made.

Courtney said: “He was acting suspiciously but until I saw it I didn’t connect the dots. We thought we heard someone on our door touch the handle but we figured it’s not the postman or anything so we didn’t.

“A delivery driver came to drop off our food and he said, ‘What’s that on your door?’ and we looked and knew immediately who it was.

“As my partner went downstairs to get the food delivery, he zoomed away and we were like, ‘Yes, that was him.’

“My partner was angry and I was just scared, I cried.”

The mother went on to say how the incident made her feel like she was letting her daughter down.

“I sat there with my baby in my arms and I thought it’s my job to protect her and I feel like I can’t even do that when someone can come to me like that and have her here alive,” Courtney explained.

“I think it was just a big ‘F-you’ because he knew he wasn’t going to live here anymore.

“It’s just shocking, obviously I didn’t like him as a person but I didn’t think he would ever sink that low. I don’t even know how that thought would get into someone’s head.”

After allegedly smearing dog poo on her door, the mother claims a delivery driver alerted her to the mess just in time for her partner to see the former neighbor driving away.

Courtney says she messaged the man and he denied doing the bad deed – but she claims she caught wind that he was bragging about it to other neighbors on the street.

Speaking of the incident, the former neighbor said: “I had nothing but trouble with her, so I moved out. I did absolutely nothing wrong, they just caused unnecessary trouble.

“She made a lot of lies about me. I’m a hardworking boy.

“I run a business that has guys working for me and I’m away about 12 hours a day. I’ll come back at eight or nine and go straight to bed.

“I’ve never made music and I certainly don’t smoke.

“I had the police outside my door because they called the police – they came and went many times. No action was taken because I did nothing.

“I’ve just messed up my life for the last year and I don’t know what her problem is.

“I bought my own property and moved out. They’ve complained for the last year and I can’t handle being next to them.

“I didn’t rub feces on her door.”

Northumbria Police confirmed they attended the incident earlier this month and no arrests were made.
