When it comes to children’s nutrition, some parents put a lot of emphasis on healthy eating for their little ones, avoiding sugar and making sure they only eat natural products, while others are less concerned, simply thinking that nutrition is the most important thing best is, and that’s it matters.

One mother was very excited when her daughter finally reached an age where she could eat properly (13 months) as she had planned to cook her some of the African and Caribbean inspired dishes she ate as a child.

Graca Walters, who posts online under the name texy kitchen, grew up in Congo and has shared her family recipes online.

She’s garnered over two million followers on TikTok for her fabulous food – but sadly, along with her fans have also come some harsh critics.

The mother was trolled by other social media users who didn’t like what she was serving her daughter, Zuri.

“Who would ever feed their child this disgusting food,” wrote a stranger.

Another wrote, “My dog wouldn’t even eat that.”

While a third said: “Wtf is that baby shouldn’t be getting fruit and veg so c**p.”

Others considered it “abusive” and threatened to put the mother in charge of youth protection.

Graca, who now lives in New York, hit back at the nasty comments while speaking to her Today.

She told the publication: “We don’t have baby food in containers and jars where I’m from.

“I give Zuri what my mother gave me. She likes curry. She likes lamb. She also likes Jamaican food.

“In the beginning it hurt my feelings a lot. I’m not doing anything wrong.”

An American doctor also agreed that the mother was doing nothing wrong, saying she did not put any food restrictions on children after they reached one year unless they had allergies, they could eat anything.
