Parents get excited at Home Bargains for selling children’s ‘Easter Night’ products

Parents were left furious after Home Bargains started selling £2.99 snacks to children – and some say the discount retailer is squeezing money out of the religious holiday .

Debbie Chambers was shopping in discount retail and was shocked to find baby products on the shelves.

Each box is filled with festive themed goodies including an ‘egg-hunting suit’ and a basket, to give kids something to enjoy on the eve of Easter.

Debbie took product photos and shared them online, and soon other parents commented on the post saying Home Bargains had gone too far.

“I admire people of this faith, there’s nothing more offensive than throwing money at it!”

Paula Adds wrote: “What a waste of money, the pressure on parents to buy these supplements is sad, especially at this time.

“Some people may think these are great for others, it’s simply commercialism and more pressure.

“Thank goodness my kids are too old for this now.”

Louise Garrahan slammed: “What’s next… the night before Halloween?? The night before bommy? There’s a special magic on Christmas Eve.

“Retailers should just respect that.”

Susan Buckmaster commented: “Surely all these ‘New Year’s Eve’ boxes just dampen the fun of the actual day?
