Musk’s Twitter slides read “We’re hiring” after jobs were cut

Twitter is hiring slides from a company call tweeted by owner Elon Musk, according to.

The announcement follows sweeping job cuts as part of a cost-cutting campaign since the billionaire took over the social network and an Irish executive has challenged her sacking in court.

The first slide contained the words “We’re recruiting” with no further details. Musk, who didn’t say so when he gave the talk, has undertaken a dramatic reorganization that initially halved the company’s workforce.

Impressions of hate speech on the social network are lower and reported impersonation has declined, according to slides citing data from mid-November.

New user signups are at an all-time high, averaging over 2 million per day for the seven days ending November 16, the slides also showed.

In a follow-up tweet, Musk said he sees a path to Twitter having more than 1 billion monthly users in 12 to 18 months.

Musk has announced that Twitter will restart its paid verified services on Friday after a series of delays and glitches over fake accounts. Twitter Verified is its attempt to differentiate between different classes of users and increase sales.

Sinead McSweeney, Ireland-based global vice president of public policy at Twitter, recently won a High Court injunction preventing the social media giant from terminating her employment.
