The theft happened around 2 a.m. while the family was sleeping.

Anwar, who changed his name to protect himself, has since blasted cops after claiming he was told the case had been dropped due to lack of evidence.

Although CCTV footage was sent to the Met Police on the morning of the incident, the family claim the police said no further action could be taken.

He told that MailOnline: “The police were absolutely gloomy.

“You haven’t done anything.”

Anwar said he has four separate videos of the car that was stolen.

He also claims to have mug shots of the alleged thieves.

He added: They have pictures and they just don’t do anything.

“If they close the case so quickly, it’s a joke.”

It is understood the gang managed to gain access to the vehicle using keyless technology.

The car was later involved in a collision, slamming into the front of a Suzuki.

As the suspect tried to drive off, he pushed a woman in her 60s against the car.

Footage of the crash was captured on camera.

The victim screamed in agony as the car’s bumper collapsed behind her legs.

Although the fleeing driver backed up, she had to be taken to the hospital for her injuries.

Anwar said the family were not informed by the police that the car was involved in an accident.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 06:42 on Tuesday 24 January to receive reports of a stolen car in Kensington Avenue, Newham.

“The crime has been investigated as far as possible and the case has been closed pending further investigative avenues to identify and bring the suspect to justice.

“However, at 0906, police received a report of a road traffic accident and serious bodily harm on St Awdry’s Road, Barking.

“Investigations determined that this incident is linked to the theft. The two incidents will form the same investigation.
