He said the flood of cars was leaving pedestrians with no choice but to enter the section of traffic.

Bruce said some residents have been frustrated by the “growing problem” of parking in Holylands for some time.

He told Belfast Live: ‘There are so many streets that just walking is not possible with a foot bath.

“This week, I was taking my daughter to primary school and we were forced to walk on the street because the sidewalk was occupied by cars.

“This is an issue that is affecting everyone living in the area and residents would like to see increased parking enforcement to address this ongoing problem.

“We love living in the Holylands and it has the potential to be a very attractive place for all walks of life, but there are a number of issues that need to be addressed urgently to make it an even better place to live. everybody.”

Bruce believes the problem is with shared tenants, who each own their own cars and don’t have enough space for each resident.

The Botanic Labor and Social Democratic Party (SDLP) councilor said parking problems across South Belfast could affect locals.
