We live in a large apartment with a lovely shared garden.
I’ve always wanted to have a big family and I love my husband so much, so why am I crying every day?
I am 29 years old and my husband is 31 years old.
My days are spent with the kids alone because my husband works 14 hours a day away from home.
All issues receive a personal response, usually within 24 hours on weekdays.
I feel desperate. I love my children, but I don’t feel like I have a worthwhile life at the moment.
My husband tries to cheer me up on his days off, but most of the time we’re like ships in the night.
DEIDRE SAYS: You’re right when it comes to the demanding period of parenting.
It’s really important not to call things out, so talk to your husband about how you’re feeling and ask him to keep the kids in your arms for at least a few hours so you can take a break. And, most importantly, talk to your GP as soon as possible.
Please do not struggle alone when help is available.
You may fall into a spiral of depression and it is important that this is treated.
You are not alone when you feel this way. Being in charge of young kids 24/7 is demanding, so don’t underestimate how different it feels when you’re tired.
