My husband’s ability to anger me grows exponentially as he morphs into his summer persona

Every summer I find myself in a permanent nose. It is a state in which it is very exhausting to exist. Physically, sniffling (yes, it’s a verb) requires constant clenching of facial muscles to create a permanent scowl. Emotionally, as we all know, anger is the most draining of feelings, and mentally, being in a snit requires 24/7 cataloging of all the little irritations that fuel the snit. The throwaway comments and tiny inconveniences fuel the fire of our snits. Add the heat and I’m positively high off my snout.

o Why the summer bun you ask? Well, every year I’m forced to spend the season with a person I hate reserved. It appears in early May and, despite my open hostility, remains fun-loving through September. He’s actually around the house year-round — it’s my husband Seb — but during the summer his ability to get angry grows exponentially as he transforms into what I call Summer Seb.
