“My mother always discouraged me from modeling,” says Lila Moss, cover star of British Vogue
Lila Moss, daughter of fashion star Kate, said she’s wary of entering the modeling world because “my mom always puts me off.”
The 19-year-old appears on the cover of British Vogue in May, following in the footsteps of her supermodel mother, who has appeared 43 times.
Lila, whose father is Kate’s ex-partner Jefferson Hack, also appeared on the 2016 cover of Vogue alongside her mother.

She told the magazine: “My mother always put me off (model). She always said, ‘If you want to do it, you can, but I wouldn’t recommend it’.”
Last year, a mother and daughter walked the runway together at a Fendi fashion show in Paris, modeling clothes for the designer’s spring/summer show.
Lila told the magazine that she was eight years old when she began to process her mother’s fame.
“That’s when I realized the paparazzi thing, they were interested in her for some reason.
“Then I went to secondary school and everyone was like, ‘Oh, your mother is Kate Moss!’

“You don’t really have a filter when you’re that young, and I was like, ‘How do you know who she is? She’s old and boring!’”
She added that over the past few years, she’s found that her mom’s style “is actually really cool,” but she “doesn’t have a good trackie selection.”
Lila photographed her first campaign for Marc Jacobs Beauty at the age of 15 before starring in the Marc Jacobs Perfect Fragrance campaign.
Her catwalk debut was for Miu Miu, opening the Spring/Summer 2021 show just a week after turning 18 and also walking for designer Richard Quinn.
Of the fame that comes with modeling success, the teen added, “I’ve seen it firsthand so I’m much better at dealing with it.
“I had to tell people no. But I’m always nice.”
